Zverev and De Minaur Set for 2026 Laver Cup Clash in London

February 19, 2026 – Top tennis stars Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur have confirmed their participation in the 2026 Laver Cup, set to take place at The O2 in London from September 25-27. The announcement adds further star power to an already impressive lineup that includes Carlos Alcaraz and Taylor Fritz.

Zverev Returns to London with a Point to Prove

Alexander Zverev, representing Team Europe, is a six-time Laver Cup competitor and the event’s all-time leading points scorer. He returns to London aiming to reclaim the title after experiencing his first Laver Cup defeat last year in San Francisco. Zverev has been a key member of Team Europe’s winning teams in Prague (2017), Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019), Boston (2021), and Berlin (2024). The German also holds fond memories of The O2, having won the Nitto ATP Finals there in 2018. He began the 2026 season strongly, reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open before falling to Alcaraz.

“I always love being part of the Laver Cup,” Zverev stated. “The team atmosphere is incredible, and the intensity is unlike anything else we play all year. London is a great tennis city and The O2 is one of the most special stadiums in the world for me and has already delivered some unforgettable moments for this event. I’m excited to return and hopefully we can win the title back for Team Europe.”

De Minaur Leads Team World’s Charge

Alex de Minaur will represent Team World, joining Taylor Fritz in a bid for consecutive Laver Cup titles. De Minaur was instrumental in Team World’s victories in London in 2022 and San Francisco in 2025, winning all three of his matches in the latter competition. He is currently the top-ranked player for Team World.

“Laver Cup is one of the most intense and exciting weeks on the calendar,” said de Minaur. “Playing in London in 2022 was a special moment for our team and San Francisco showed what this group is capable of. I loved playing under Andre Agassi last year and I’m really looking forward to getting back out there in London with him and the team.”

Current Roster and What’s to Come

With Zverev and de Minaur’s confirmations, Team Europe and Team World each boast two Top 10 players. Team Europe’s roster includes World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, while Team World features World No. 8 Taylor Fritz. Eight roster spots remain to be filled for each team, leaving room for further exciting additions as the tournament approaches.

Team Europe is captained by Yannick Noah, and Team World is led by Andre Agassi.
