The fatal incident occurred on July 31, 2026, when the SCDF received an alert regarding the fire at approximately 11:10 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to find the living room of an eighth-floor unit engulfed in flames, prompting firefighters to make a forcible entry into the apartment to tackle the fire and search for occupants.
