Tallahassee Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Sex Crimes Against Children
Tallahassee, FL – Perry Walker, 44, owner of Modern Communications, Inc., pleaded guilty in federal court on February 26, 2026, to multiple sex crimes against children. The guilty plea follows an investigation by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
Details of the Case
The investigation began after a CyberTip report was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from a social media platform. This report was then forwarded to the LCSO. A subsequent search of Walker’s business on Thomasville Road and his electronic devices revealed evidence of sexual exploitation of children and possession of child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Walker used social media to communicate with children aged 13-15 between December 26, 2024, and October 10, 2025. These communications were used to “entice” minors to send him images and videos depicting child sex crimes. Some of the children involved resided in Europe.
Charges and Sentencing
Walker pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual exploitation of children, one count of receipt of child pornography, and one count of transfer of obscene material to minors. He faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for May 11, 2026, at the United States Courthouse in Tallahassee.
Joint Investigation
The case was a joint effort between the LCSO and HSI, as part of the North Florida ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) task force, which includes agencies like FDLE, TPD, and others. WCTV reports that multiple agencies are part of this task force.
