Jeffersonville, Indiana, is increasing police patrols on the Big Four Bridge in response to recent incidents in Louisville’s Waterfront Park area, including a homicide and disturbances involving juveniles. Louisville Metro Police have also increased their presence on the pedestrian bridge.

Recent Incidents in Louisville

Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers responded to multiple incidents at Waterfront Park on Saturday night, primarily involving juveniles. During these incidents, officers confiscated a firearm and cited a juvenile offender, releasing them to a guardian. Details about the number of juveniles involved were not released by LMPD.

Prior to this, Jeffersonville Police responded to a large fight between teenagers on the bridge around 11 p.m. On a previous occasion.

Homicide at Waterfront Park

A homicide occurred in Waterfront Park, near the splash pad, around 3 a.m. On Friday. This incident prompted the increased police presence from both cities.
