Simple Habits to Protect Your Brain Health, According to Johns Hopkins Experts

A neuroscientist from Johns hopkins University reveals the secret to taking care of your brain through 6 practical daily activities. Confirming that the human brain can develop throughout life. Ready to aim to be a Super-Ager or an elderly person who has an excellent memory like a young person.

Dr. Majid Fotuhi, a neuroscientist with more than 30 years of experience in brain research from Johns Hopkins University, revealed his approach to brain health in his late 50s through an interview with Business Insider, stating that the old belief that compared the brain to an old computer that deteriorates over time is inaccurate. The brain is actually a living organ and can grow or change according to everyday behavior.

Dr fotuhi, who has a new book The Invincible Brain coming out in 2026, has revealed the six routines he adheres to. To aim to become a Super-Ager or a person with brain performance equivalent to someone decades younger, as follows:

1. Exercise to stimulate blood circulation.

Dr fotuhi states that physical activity is key to strengthening the brain. So he starts the day with a combination of cardio and weight training, with a cycling schedule of 60-80 miles per week to stimulate blood flow to the brain. Improves memory and processing efficiency.

2. Adhere to the Mediterranean way of eating.

Emphasis on consuming unprocessed food. Eat a low-fat diet and good fat from fish. By avoiding processed foods,sugar,and fried foods,which are factors that stifle brain function.
