Job Responsibilities

As an R&D Engineering Intern, you will contribute to a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting in the design, development, and testing of new medical devices and components.
  • Conducting literature reviews and research to inform design decisions and problem-solving.
  • Performing laboratory work, such as prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental data, and presenting findings to the engineering team.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and reports.
  • Supporting design verification and validation activities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and regulatory affairs.
  • Participating in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Job Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Must be entering Junior or Senior level coursework.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced medical device environment.
