Ian Wright: some Aren’t Ready for a Black Superstar Like Jude Bellingham

Ian Wright, the former England striker, has strongly defended Jude Bellingham, arguing that some of the criticism Bellingham receives stems from discomfort with a triumphant Black player. He believes certain individuals simply aren’t “ready for a black superstar.”

Bellingham faced scrutiny following his reaction to being substituted during England’s recent World Cup qualifying victory against Albania. Some have even suggested he’s a disruptive force within the team. However, Wright contends that a lot of the negativity comes from people who are “frightened” by Bellingham’s rapid rise and achievements.
