The competitor on Friday, November 28th, is Martina, from Sardinia. She’s playing with package number 19, alongside her mother. Her game begins with a strong setback, testing even the most optimistic players.
The first pick is a tough one: she chooses number 11 from Tuscany, remembering it’s Gigi Riva’s number, “who for us Sardinians is as crucial as Maradona is to Neapolitans.” It was a heartfelt dedication, but unluckily, it didn’t bring good luck. That package contained the 300,000 euro prize, the highest of the evening. A chill fell over the studio, quickly eased by Stefano De Martino and Herbert with a smile: “Come on, the worst is over.”
But it wasn’t quite like that. The second and third packages Martina opened were also red,two consecutive losses that made the situation even harder. “Let’s remember the rules: the blue ones are the ones you want to find,” Herbert said with irony, as tension grew in the studio and it felt like the game was going downhill.
It was a real series of red packages, an almost unstoppable sequence, until Stefano De Martino decided to change the mood.He invited everyone to take a moment to calm down, almost like a mini group meditation to help Martina.
