Asahi Group Data Breach Impacts 1.9 Million

Asahi Group Holdings,Japan’s largest beer producer,has finished investigating the September cyberattack and found it impacted up to 1.9 million people.

The data compromised includes full names, genders, physical addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.This data could be used in phishing attempts.

The incident started on September 29,when the company had to stop production and shipping because of the cyberattack.

At first, Asahi said they didn’t think customer data was accessed. But a few days later, the company confirmed it was a ransomware attack and that data had been stolen.

The company is still working to figure out exactly what happened and how to protect its customers.They’re advising people to be careful about suspicious emails or messages.
