It’s called Adaptive Clock, and manages font size, orientation, and location based on your lock screen wallpaper. however, users have reported for months that Adaptive Clock hasn’t been working as expected,as documented by Reddit posts and comments. Now, Samsung is finally here with a simple fix that only requires updating an app (via SamMobile).
“We have confirmed that the adaptive Clock (Stretch Clock) feature does not function properly on Galaxy devices running One UI 8 if the Good Lock LockStar app has not been updated to version 7.0.1.10,” Samsung said in a community post (translated from Korean). “Update the Good Lock LockStar app to version 7.0.1.10 through the Galaxy store.”
Samsung Fixes Adaptive Clock Issues with LockStar Update
Samsung has resolved issues with its Adaptive Clock feature, which adjusts clock preferences based on your wallpaper’s subject, by identifying the root cause as outdated versions of the LockStar Good Lock app.
Adaptive Clock analyzes your wallpaper to determine its main subject and then modifies the clock style accordingly. Users experiencing problems with the feature should update to LockStar version 7.0.1.10 or higher, which was released several months ago. https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/samsung-galaxy/samsung-adaptive-clock-lockstar-good-lock-update
How to Update LockStar
To update the LockStar module, open the Galaxy Store app on your Samsung device. Navigate to the hamburger menu (usually three horizontal lines) and select the Updates tab. From there, find and select LockStar to begin the update process, following the on-screen instructions. If you don’t already have Good Lock and the LockStar module installed, you’ll need to download them first from the Galaxy store. https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/samsung-galaxy/samsung-adaptive-clock-lockstar-good-lock-update
Once updated to version 7.0.1.10 or newer,Adaptive Clock should function as expected with compatible wallpapers. Samsung recommends using wallpapers with clearly defined subjects to maximize the feature’s accuracy.
