The Coordinamento Nazionale Comunità Accoglienti (CNCA) has launched the second edition of the “Legàmi. Intessere relazioni familiari” training course, designed to support the rights to family life for unaccompanied foreign minors through foster care and mentoring programs.
Running under the broader project “InTessere. Sostenere il diritto alle relazioni familiari dei minorenni migranti,” the initiative targets single citizens, families, and social operators across 23 provinces within 10 Italian regions, including Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Calabria, and Sicily.
Structure and Schedule of the Training Course
According to CNCA, the curriculum consists of four online sessions hosted on the Zoom platform, each lasting three hours, followed by an in-person final meeting. The program blends formal lectures with interactive group discussions and multidisciplinary learning methods.
- Incontro 1: Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Incontro 2: Thursday, November 26, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
- Incontro 3: Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- Incontro 4: Thursday, January 14, 2027, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
The final in-person meeting is scheduled between February and March 2027 and will take place locally across each of the 10 participating regions. Participants who attend at least 75% of the total course hours will receive a formal certificate of completion, alongside access to teaching materials and evaluation questionnaires.
Objectives for Citizens and Social Operators
The training program addresses two distinct audiences to build a comprehensive support network for unaccompanied young migrants. For individual citizens and families, the course provides the necessary guidance to evaluate and undertake foster care or mentoring arrangements suited to their availability and household capabilities.
For professional operators, the curriculum imparts multidisciplinary skills required to plan, organize, and manage complex foster care pathways effectively. Every placement or mentoring match is paired with ongoing territorial network support to assist both the youth and the welcoming families.
Registration and Project Partnerships
Interested participants must complete their registration by Monday, November 9, 2026, via the designated enrollment portal provided by project organizers. Inquiries can be directed to the coordination team at intessere@cnca.it.
The InTessere initiative is spearheaded by CNCA as the lead organization, alongside key partners including ANCI Sicilia, the Municipality of Bergamo, CO.GE.S. Don Lorenzo Milani, Cooperativa Sociale Crinali, Fondazione Don Calabria per il Sociale ETS, Refugees Welcome Italia, and UNIRE APS. The project receives financial backing from the national allocation of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI) 2021–2027.
