Calgary dentist Alena Smedic,55,pleaded guilty to defrauding five insurance companies over a 10-year period and was sentenced to up to three years in prison by prosecutors at a sentencing hearing held on Friday the 5th. Smedich was the operator of ‘All About Family Dental’, which at one time had the highest root canal treatment billing in Canada.
Prosecutors have requested up to three years in prison for Smadich, a Calgary dentist who charged more than $680,000 in false medical expenses over a 10-year period, and the sentence will be decided in January. All About Family Dental
