Aviation Safety in Russia: A Growing Concern

While commercial air travel remains statistically safe, the situation in russia is deteriorating. Russia’s civilian aircraft production is limited, and its airlines primarily rely on Airbus and Boeing aircraft – the same as most other nations. Though, international sanctions imposed following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have severely restricted access to essential parts for these Western-made planes.

Although some components still reach russia, the supply is drastically reduced. russians procure aircraft components through complex, often opaque, channels, including parallel imports and reliance on countries willing to circumvent sanctions. This practice raises notable concerns about the authenticity and quality control of these parts.
