Sing Your Heart Out at Pompeii’s Ancient Theater This Christmas

Singing in the Teatro Grande of Pompeii is a dream for manny, but a reality for few. However, director of the Archaeological Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, is making that dream accessible to all: simply show up on December 19th at 11:30 am and sing at the top of your lungs!

Throughout the Christmas holidays, the sites of “Great Pompeii” will be filled with music and artistic performances, offering tourists the chance to sing and dance. From the pop-up choir at the Big Theater to themed musical itineraries, a Christmas surprise awaits visitors starting today. The sites will transform into a creative space, hosting musical performances, educational workshops, and unique thematic tours.

The central event takes place at Pompeii’s Big Theater on December 19th, featuring the “POMPEII POP UP” choir – hundreds of voices joining together for a spontaneous concert. Everyone is invited to participate! Attendees will receive lyrics to two surprise songs and, after a speedy rehearsal, will perform.

Beyond the choral event, enjoy jazz atmospheres with “archaeo jazz”, part of the DiVinoJazzFestival – Vesuvian itineraries funded by the Region and organized in partnership with several municipalities, under the artistic direction of Gigi Di Luca.

The Vincenzo Saetta Trio will perform at the Villa of Poppea in Oplontis on December 20th, while the Matteo Franza Jazz Trio will play at Villa regina in Boscoreale on December 21st. Boomerang Jazz will take the stage in Pompeii on December 30th.
