What Does a New Belt Color Mean?

In karate, the belt system is a visual portrayal of a student’s progress and understanding of the discipline. Each color signifies a diffrent level of skill, knowledge, and commitment. Achieving a new belt isn’t just about mastering techniques; it’s about demonstrating respect, discipline, and perseverance.

The new belt colors introduced are designed to provide a more nuanced progression for our students, allowing for a clearer distinction between skill levels and motivating further growth.

The New Belt color System

Here’s a breakdown of the new belt colors and what they represent:

* Gray Belt: This is frequently enough the first belt students receive, signifying the beginning of their karate journey. It represents foundational understanding and the commitment to learning.
* Mauve Belt: A transitional color between grey and brown, mauve indicates developing proficiency in basic techniques and forms.
* Orange Belt: Demonstrates a solid grasp of basic movements and an increasing ability to apply them with power and precision.
* Green Belt: Represents a growing understanding of karate principles and the ability to perform more complex techniques.

Why the Change?

we’ve implemented these new belt colors to offer a more detailed and rewarding progression for our students. The previous system felt limiting for some, and this allows for more accurate assessment and recognition of individual achievements.
