At an extraordinary meeting on Monday, Bulgaria’s resigned government proposed an extended budget to the National Assembly, designed to guide the country thru 2026 alongside the planned adoption of the Euro.

“The purpose of this bill is to establish the necesary legal and financial framework for the smooth functioning of the state and municipalities and, mostly, to prioritize spending related to remunerations, pensions, and social payments,” explained resigned Prime minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the meeting’s outset.
