It’s touted to erase under-eye bags, relieve tired legs, reduce bloating, and even slim your waist.Some influencers recommend special tools, while others promote pressotherapy boots. But is it actually effective? the Evening Edition investigates with Professor Olivier Leduc, head of the phlebo-lymphology laboratory at the Haute école de Bruxelles-Brabant.

How does the Lymphatic System Work?

First, let’s quickly review the basics. The lymphatic system has two main jobs. It helps remove waste from cells, working alongside the blood. Lymph handles larger molecules, while blood deals with smaller ones and water. It also plays a crucial role in defending against harmful invaders like germs and bacteria. When you have an infection or cancer, your lymph nodes – which act as filters – frequently enough swell up.
