bryan Danielson Helped Red Velvet Navigate Injuries & AEW Transition

Bryan Danielson has provided significant behind-the-scenes support to Red Velvet during her time in AEW.

Speaking on a recent episode of Close Up with Renee Paquette, Velvet cited Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, and Dustin Rhodes as key figures who aided her adjustment to AEW upon her arrival. She also highlighted Danielson’s guidance, particularly concerning her injury recovery.

“Bryan Danielson, he’s been great to me and just helped me so much in like the later parts of AEW,” Velvet stated. “And just even after injury too, it was like, he was so helpful in like, how do I move differently to protect my knee from that time? so that was a good turning point at that point.”

Velvet also acknowledged the support of Arn Anderson and QT Marshall during her initial period with the promotion, expressing her lasting gratitude.

After suffering a knee injury in 2023 that kept her out of action for much of the year, Velvet faced further setbacks in 2025 with neck and shoulder issues. Danielson, alongside Claudio castagnoli and PAC, once again offered valuable advice on her rehabilitation.

Velvet returned to the ring in November and subsequently reclaimed the ROH Women’s Television Championship from Mercedes Mone at Final Battle 2025.

Despite transitioning to a full-time retirement in 2024, danielson remains with AEW as a commentator and backstage consultant.
