The United Nations Relief adn Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is grappling with a critical funding shortfall, having lost $83 million in resources this year alone. The financial crisis at UNRWA is leading to a “massive” reduction in the agency’s footprint, according to Mr. Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General. “Becuase of those cuts, we have to choose which lives we can save and which support we have to stop. Israel had provided evidence to these countries alleging the involvement of UNRWA employees.
