Midfielder Diogo Ferreira, who was under contract with Portimonense until 2028, has unilaterally terminated his contract with the club. After appearing in 15 matches for the first team last season, the 21-year-old player did not feature at all this season and was excluded from team training.
Upon leaving, Diogo Ferreira was critical of the club, as expressed in a social media post.
“I was prevented from training, playing, or even contributing, and was forced to unilaterally terminate my employment contract,” the player stated. “I required psychological support to endure months of pressure and moral coercion,and I’ve had to seek legal counsel to claim what I am owed – and still am owed.I felt truly abandoned, even by those who were contractually obligated to support me.”
