Najib Razak Receives 165-Year Prison Sentence in 1MDB Case

Jakarta – A Malaysian court has found former Prime Minister Najib Razak guilty of four additional charges of abuse of power and 21 charges of money laundering related to the 1Malaysia Advancement Berhad (1MDB) investment fund scandal. Najib has been sentenced to a total of 165 years in prison.

According to reports from The Star,Najib Razak will serve an additional 15 years in prison after completing his current sentence.The High Court delivered a total of 165 years in prison across 25 charges in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) case.

Specifically, he received a 15-year prison sentence for each of the four counts of abuse of power. Najib was also ordered to pay a total fine of RM11.4 billion.

Furthermore,Najib was sentenced to five years in prison for each of the 21 money laundering charges.
