Zohran Mamdani Sworn In as New York City Mayor

Zohran Mamdani was inaugurated as mayor of New york City at a former Gilden-era subway station on New Year’s Eve, Thursday, January 1st.

Mamdani chose the location as a intentional symbol of the working class and to mark the beginning of a new era for the city. He believes it represents a commitment to those who built and continue to sustain New York.
