Key Personnel Shifts Follow Triple Eight‘s Ford Transition
The recent decision by Triple Eight Race Engineering to switch to Ford has triggered a significant realignment of personnel within Australian motorsport, particularly among those with longstanding ties to General Motors (GM). This transition wasn’t simply a change of manufacturer; it instigated departures of prominent figures deeply rooted in the GM ecosystem.
notably, Jeromy Moore, Triple Eight’s highly respected technical director, and Craig Lowndes, a celebrated driver and integral part of the team’s history, have both moved on, aligning themselves with GM-backed programs. KRE Race Engines, the established engine supplier for GM teams, has also severed its relationship with Triple Eight.
Further solidifying GM’s competitive response, roland Dane, the former driving force behind Triple Eight’s success, has taken on the role of Team Principal at PremiAir racing, a GM squad.He is joined by Simon McNamara, formerly the head of Holden motorsport, who has also returned to GM to contribute his expertise.
