Microsoft Word’s “Send to Kindle” Feature to be Discontinued in February 2026
Microsoft is discontinuing the “Send to Kindle” feature within Microsoft Word sometime after February 2026, though a specific date hasn’t been announced and rollout may be staged. Currently, this feature allows users to directly send Word documents (.doc and .docx files) to their Kindle library. After the feature is removed, it will no longer be accessible through the Word “Export” menu.

Microsoft recommends using the Send to Kindle website to continue sending documents to your Kindle.
How Send to Kindle Works:
The Send to Kindle feature converts Word documents for reading on Kindle devices or Kindle apps. Transferred files can be displayed in two ways:
* adjustable Font Size: the document reflows like a typical Kindle ebook,allowing users to customize the font size.
* Fixed Layout: The document preserves it’s original formatting and page layout, similar to a printed document.
Currently, when using Send to Kindle, comments and tracked changes are not transferred.
Impact of Discontinuation:
After february 2026, users will need to rely on the Send to kindle website to send documents to their Kindle devices, losing the convenience of the direct integration within Microsoft Word.
