Cox Communications Supports Surprise Community Resource Center with $25,000 Grant
Surprise, Arizona – the future Surprise Community and Resource Center, slated to open this summer in the Original Town Site, will be equipped with essential communications technology thanks to a $25,000 grant from Cox Communications. Darren Moffat, Director of Government Affairs for cox Communications, presented the check to the Surprise City Council on January 6th, demonstrating the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and supporting community initiatives.
The funding will enable the City of surprise to purchase a mobile technology cart complete with laptops. According to Seth Dyson, director of the city’s Human Services and Community vitality Department, this cart will be instrumental in delivering multigenerational programming at the new center. This mobile setup will allow the city to extend technology access and training to a wider range of residents, fostering digital literacy across all age groups.
The Surprise Community and Resource Center aims to be a central hub for residents, offering a variety of services and programs. The addition of Cox Communications’ technology support will considerably enhance the center’s ability to meet the evolving needs of the community in an increasingly digital world.
