Pope Leo XIV is keenly interested in the ongoing developments within the Catholic Church in Germany, according to Bruno Kahl, the German ambassador to the holy See. Ambassador Kahl expressed confidence that despite current tensions surrounding the “Synodal Path” discussions,a schism with Rome is unlikely,anticipating instead a resolution through peaceful arbitration.

Kahl assumed his post as German ambassador to the Holy See in the fall, having been appointed by the federal government in September. prior to this role, he served as the head of the Federal Intelligence Service.
