Deadly Triple Shooting Investigated in New Orleans’ Gentilly Woods Neighborhood
New Orleans, LA – the New Orleans Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that left one woman dead and two others injured in the Gentilly Woods neighborhood early Friday morning.
According to police reports, officers responded to a call in the 5100 block of Metropolitan Drive at approximately 3:51 a.m. Upon arrival, officers were approached by a male victim who directed them to a nearby residence. Inside the home, authorities discovered two female victims.
One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene. The identities of the deceased and the injured are currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The male victim and the surviving female victim were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment; their conditions remain unknown at this time.
The NOPD has initiated a full inquiry into the incident. At present, details surrounding the shooting, including a potential motive and any possible suspects, have not been released to the public.
