February 6, 2026 – Despite suffering a cruciate ligament injury last week during a downhill race in Crans-Montana, skiing icon Lindsey Vonn returned to the Olympic track today for a practice run.The 41-year-old athlete’s return has been met with cautious optimism from experts and fans alike.

Initial reports indicated a significant injury to Vonn’s left knee, raising concerns about her ability to compete in upcoming events. However, according to Pernilla Wiberg, a ski expert present at the training session, Vonn reported not experiencing pain during her run.

“If there is anyone who can handle this, it is Lindsey Vonn,” Wiberg stated, acknowledging the mental fortitude required to overcome such an injury. “But it is indeed incredibly tough mentally.”

Today’s practice session was initially halted after only three skiers completed their runs due to challenging track conditions. After a brief delay, the session resumed, allowing Vonn, wearing bib number ten, to participate. She completed a controlled run, demonstrating caution and reducing her speed on the final steep section of the course.
