Botafogo to Receive Limited Ticket Allocation for Carioca Championship Clash Against Vasco
Botafogo supporters will receive a substantially smaller share of tickets for their upcoming Carioca Championship match against Vasco da gama at São Januário this Sunday. Despite the typical 50% ticket split for classic matches in the tournament, Botafogo has been allocated just 10% of the total ticket inventory, a decision made by the Federação de Futebol do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Ferj).
According to Marcelo Vianna, Ferj’s competition director, the reduced allocation is a result of a collaborative agreement stemming from a “good relationship” between the two clubs. Vianna explained on Rádio Tupi that the standard safety report for São Januário recommends a 90/10 split favoring the home team (Vasco), but negotiations led to a slight increase for Botafogo.
“Within the São Januário safety report, the determination is 90% for the client and 5% for the visitor. But the two clubs have a very good relationship and we managed to reach this agreement,” Vianna stated. He further emphasized the importance of holding the match at São Januário, noting that consideration was given to moving the game to Nilton Santos Stadium, but this was ultimately deemed a “change of command.” Vianna also credited the police for their wise assessment of the situation, allowing the match to proceed at Vasco’s home stadium.
tickets for Botafogo fans are currently on sale and priced as follows: R$60 (full price), R$30 (half price), and R$24 for club members.Further details regarding ticket purchase locations can be found on official club channels.
