Norovirus Invades Swiss Team – Olympic Games Outbreak

An intestinal virus begins to spread among hockey players at the Milan-Cortina Games. A positive case of norovirus was detected last night in the Swiss team.

On Thursday, the match between Canada and Finland had to be postponed to February 12 after a majority of Finns were affected by the same virus.

The athlete’s positive test result was only known after the victory against Czechia, and shortly before the opening ceremonyunderlined the Swiss Hockey Federation in a press release.

The athlete concerned was isolated from the rest of the group as soon as symptoms appeared.

She no longer has any symptoms. since Friday morning, assured the federation, but the team was isolated after the end of the match as a preventative measure.

The Swiss hockey players were conspicuous by their absence during the opening ceremony.

The Canadians and the Swiss are scheduled to cross swords on Saturday at the Rho Arena in Milan.
