You can have a cheap version of the Toyota Alphard at a more affordable price. What is Toyota’s reason for presenting this cheap version of the Alphard?
Toyota Alphard now has XE variants, both petrol and hybrid versions. The Toyota Alphard XE is the cheapest variant in the premium MPV family. Toyota apparently has its own reasons behind the presence of this cheap version of the Alphard.

Vice President of PT Toyota Astra Motor, Henry Tanoto, revealed that the launch of this cheap version of the Alphard is intended so that premium cars can reach more Indonesian people.
“Through the presence of a series of Toyota hybrid EV models from entry to luxury segments, we hope that environmentally friendly technology will become more easily accessible and the benefits will be felt by the Indonesian people,” said Henry.
As for the cheapest variant, of course when it comes to features it is not as complete as the Alphard variant above. There are several features that are definitely absent from the Alphard XE.
“The difference is that the heads up display is (absent), the second one has removed the rear seat entertainment, and the third one is that the wheel rim is smaller,” said Marketing Director of PT Toyota Astra Motor Jap Ernando Demily.
Other features that are also not available include voice command power backdoor, DVR integration with smartphone, side steps, step illumination, and curtains on the side windows. Meanwhile, other safety features are still available such as TSS 3.0, pre-collision system, full speed ACC, lane tracing assist, PVM, BSM, parking brake support, and airbags from the front to the side windows.
Apart from that, the specifications are the same as the Alphard Hybrid type above. The hybrid version of the Alphard uses the A25A-FXS engine which has 190 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 236 Nm of torque in the 4,300-4,500 rpm range. Meanwhile, the cheaper version of the Alphard in the petrol option has a 2AR-FE petrol engine with power of 182 PS and 235 Nm of torque. Both the Alphard hybrid and petrol engines are paired with a CVT transmission.

Toyota offers this cheap version of the Alphard in premium and non-premium colors. Price details are as follows.
– Toyota Alphard XE CVT (Non-premium color): Rp 1.288.000.000
– Toyota Alphard XE CVT (Premium color): Rp 1.291.500.000
– Toyota Alphard XE Hybrid CVT (Non-premium color): Rp 1.388.000.000
– Toyota Alphard XE Hybrid CVT (premium color): Rp 1.391.500.000
