According to the expert jury, the best car on the Czech market this year is the Škoda Elroq. The European champion Mercedes-Benz CLA finished a close second.
The newest car from Škoda, the Elroq model, ended the winning streak of Mercedes-Benz cars in the Car of the Year poll in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the German brand had a great footing for the victory – its new CLA won the title of European Car of the Year.
Along with these two models, the Dacia Bigster, BMW iX3 and Audi A6 also competed for the title of Czech Car of the Year. So the competition was really strong because each of these cars has something to offer.
First drive with the new Škoda Elroq: Really just a smaller enyaq?
The electric Škoda, which we drove for the first time at the very end of 2024, received 111 points from the judges. It beat the second Mercedes-Benz CLA only narrowly – it scored 106 points. Then the differences were a little bigger – the third BMW iX3 got 98 points, the fourth Audi A6 got 86 points and finally the fifth Dacia Bigster got 74 points.
Škoda won the title of Czech Car of the Year after seven years. Its last winner was the Škoda Karoq in 2018.

In addition to the Car of the Year, the results of the poll for the best car company PR representative of the year, which took place among Czech motoring journalists, were also announced. The title was won by Filip Stoulil (Seat and Cupra), second place went to Jitka Skaličková (Renault, Alpine and Dacia) and the bronze medal was won by Martin Hejral (Opel and Leapmotor).
