Guanajuato, Guanajuato; February 10, 2026.- The State Health Secretariat reports that during the year 2026 in the state of Guanajuato, five confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded, a figure lower than that reported until January 2025, when eight infections were recorded.
The comparison between both periods reflects a 37.5 percent decrease in the number of cases, which represents a downward trend in the presence of the virus in the entity during the current year.
This decrease is attributed to various factors, including progress in vaccination coverage, the strengthening of preventive measures and greater social awareness about self-care and timely care for respiratory symptoms.
The Ministry of Health in the current winter season adds the application of 290,803 doses with a progress of 92% in People’s Health Centers and other medical units.
Despite the reduction in infections, the Ministry of Health calls on the population not to let their guard down, especially in vulnerable groups such as older adults and people with chronic diseases, who continue to be more prone to developing complications.
Likewise, the importance of maintaining basic prevention practices is reiterated, such as frequent hand washing, ventilation of closed spaces and the use of face masks in case of presenting symptoms compatible with respiratory diseases.
In addition, epidemiological monitoring is maintained throughout the state, with the objective of promptly detecting any increase in cases and responding immediately to protect the health of the Guanajuato population.
