Hubert Falco, former mayor of Toulon, was questioned by the police as part of an investigation into suspicions of fictitious employment, BFM Toulon Var learned from the prosecution this Tuesday, February 10.

Last March, investigators from the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS) of Marseille searched the premises of the Toulon metropolis, as part of an investigation concerning suspicions of fictitious employment concerning the son-in-law of Hubert Falco.

The employment of his son-in-law at Villa Noailles questioned

The case concerns a job entrusted to the son of Hubert Falco’s wife, who had been seconded to Villa Noailles in Hyères. Investigators are now trying to determine whether this job was fictitious or not.

An investigation into embezzlement of public funds, carried out under the aegis of the Toulon public prosecutor’s office, which led, according to our information, to new hearings of the former Toulon councilor last December by the national police.

For its part, the Toulon public prosecutor’s office confirms the continuation of the investigation but refuses to make any comments, as does Maitre Thierry Fradet, Hubert Falco’s lawyer.

Mayor of Toulon for more than two decades, Hubert Falco had to end his mandate in April 2023, after being sentenced to ineligibility for concealment of embezzlement of public funds. After handing over to the current mayor Josée Massi, he gave his support to senator Michel Bonnus for the municipal elections.
