La Pensée vagabonde will broadcast the documentary film “Three sisters, women of the Mardoowarra” produced by Magali Privat, on Sunday February 15 at 5 p.m. at the Salle des Rencontres in Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois.
This documentary is the cross-portrait of three Aboriginal sisters from the Nyikina community, one of the 500 Aboriginal peoples of Australia. For over 30 years, Lucy, Wabi and Anne have implemented cultural actions to create sustainable economies in their communities for future generations and to protect their ancestral lands, language and culture.
This 52-minute film, shot over a period of seven years, reveals the violent history of the colonization of the Australian continent, and the threats of industrialization that still weigh today on Aboriginal lands, in the Kimberley region, in the northwest of Australia.
Magali Privat, its director, will present, in the introduction, the geographical and historical situation of Australia and the Aborigines.
An exchange with the public will take place after the screening (free entry, a collection will be made for the benefit of the Nyikina community).
