The potential change comes as operators from Bordeaux and beyond express interest in utilizing the space. City officials are also open to expanding the project’s scope to include photography, potentially creating a hub for visual arts.
Addressing Noise Concerns and Musical Performances
while a musical project isn’t being entirely ruled out, the City of Bordeaux emphasizes the importance of maintaining “neighborhood tranquility” in the area. Concerns previously centered around outdoor activities, but officials note that the I.Boat itself is well-soundproofed, leaving the door open for potential musical events.

The City continues to support the Trafic association, which was established to facilitate I.Boat projects beyond the venue itself. Trafic currently receives an annual operating subsidy of 10,000 euros, and the city remains receptive to proposals and initiatives developed by the association.
