UOvercast skies and precipitation are expected for Friday, according to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM). The maximum temperatures will be between 5 and 9°C, with light to moderate winds.
During the night from Friday to Saturday, the weather will generally become dry in lower and middle Belgium. The Hautes-Fagnes will be crossed by a few showers, which will take on a wintry character. Potentially wintry precipitation is also expected at the coast. Temperatures will drop significantly with minimums around +3°C on the coast, -1°C in the center of the country and -3°C in Hautes-Fagnes.
On Saturday, the day will begin inland with light frost, and conditions could locally be slippery, especially along the Sambre and Meuse furrow. Maximum temperatures will oscillate between -1 and +3°C, with a generally moderate wind, quite strong by the sea, which will accentuate the feeling of cold.
Sunday morning, some clearings will still persist over the eastern half of the territory while the sky will quickly become cloudy in the west. In Lower and Middle Belgium, precipitation will be in the form of slush or snow before rain takes over at the end of the day. The maximums will be between 1 or 2°C in the plains and -1°C on the Ardennes peaks. The wind will be moderate, locally quite strong, from the south-southeast. Gusts will sometimes reach 50 to 60 km/h.
