Taking into account the wishes of customers for local products, “Lidl” has expanded its cooperation with local producers. Currently, the company has introduced a new range of prepackaged salads “SuShef” in cooperation with the local producer “Gaļas Nams – Ādaži”. These are the first salads produced in Latvia that have reached the shelves of “Lidl” stores. Seven types of salads are now available to customers – from rasola to cheese salad with garlic – created in Latvia and developed based on the tastes liked by local residents, Klinta Mežapuķe, representative of SIA “Lidl Latvija“, informed the portal.
The assortment includes seven types of salad: rasol, bean salad with chicken, bean salad with smoked meat, crab stick salad, cheese salad with carrots, cheese salad with garlic, beet salad with garlic.
“We are happy to cooperate with local producers, while offering our customers their favorite and authentic flavors. Salads are an integral part of Latvian cuisine in everyday life and on festive occasions, so we have carefully searched for a producer who can provide authentic, home-like quality. Already in the first weeks after the introduction of this salad, we see great customer interest,” says Alexis Latorre Garcia, member of the board of Lidl Latvija SIA and head of the Purchasing Department.

This is the first locally produced salad to hit Lidl’s shelves. Up until now, the stores were mainly products from other European countries. “We are pleased that “Gaļas Nams – Ādaži” is our reliable partner. The company’s experience and craftsmanship allow us to create products with consistently excellent taste, which are appreciated by Latvian residents. We also see the manufacturer’s willingness and determination to grow with us, because the company now has the opportunity to export salads to the “Lidl” network in all Baltic countries,” explains A. Garsija.
“We have created the SuShef ready meal product line based on the local consumer’s daily eating habits and taste preferences. The assortment is based on familiar recipes and a consistent emphasis on quality, while at the same time paying special attention to the fact that the raw materials used are dominated by ingredients of local origin. We are pleased that Lidl offers its customers a salad line made in Latvia, we value the opportunity to develop the ready meals segment on the Baltic scale, which helps people save time and at the same time provides a balanced, tasty meal in a convenient, ready-to-use format. “SuShef” was created as a practical solution for everyday life – with a delicious and varied choice for every day,” says Jurijs Skribis, a member of the board of “Galash nams – Đaži” and the founder of the “SuShef” brand.

The new “SuShef” line is a new brand, and the salad recipes are created from carefully selected local ingredients, ensuring both quality and taste that the people of Latvia recognize and appreciate.
The company “Gaļas Nams – Ādaži” was one of the first local producers with which “Lidl” started cooperation when entering the Latvian market. Along with the new “SuShef” salads, “Lidl” also offers meat products produced by the company both in the range of private brands and in periodic offers.
“Gaļas Nams – Ādaži” in cooperation with “Lidl” will continue to develop the segment of culinary products, and in the near future it is planned to expand the assortment with both soups and second course meals.
Currently, Lidl cooperates with about 80 local manufacturers, and this number continues to grow every year. The assortment of private brand products manufactured here in Latvia is also growing.
