LIVIGNO, Italy – Team USA’s Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran, and Chris Lillis secured a gold medal in the mixed team aerials event at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on Saturday, February 21, 2026. This victory marks the eleventh gold medal for the U.S. Team, setting a new all-time record for gold medals earned at a Winter Olympics .

A Triumphant Performance

The American team achieved a combined score of 325.35, surpassing Switzerland’s 296.91 for silver and China’s 279.68 for bronze . Chris Lillis, the only returning member from the gold medal-winning team at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, delivered a crucial performance with a back double full-full-full attempt, scoring 117.19 points and solidifying the U.S. Lead .

Connor Curran contributed with a score of 113.72, even as Kaila Kuhn started with a score of 94.44 . Lillis’s performance was particularly significant, coming after he finished eighth in the men’s aerials event the previous day .

Breaking Records

The eleventh gold medal surpasses the previous U.S. Record of ten gold medals set at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . This win continues a gold medal streak for the U.S. That began on February 8 with alpine skier Breezy Johnson .

Other U.S. Gold medalists at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games include alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin, bobsledder Elana Meyers-Taylor, figure skater Alysia Liu, the U.S. Figure skating team, Alex Ferreira in freeski halfpipe, Elizabeth Lemley on the freeski moguls, the U.S. Women’s ice hockey team, and speedskater Jordan Stolz, who has earned two golds .
