Boracay Beach Ranked Among Asia’s Best by TripAdvisor for 2026

Boracay Island in the Philippines has once again received international recognition for its stunning White Beach, being named sixth on TripAdvisor’s Best of the Best Beaches list in Asia for 2026. The ranking highlights the island’s enduring appeal to travelers seeking pristine shores, vibrant marine life and a lively atmosphere.

Why Boracay Stands Out

TripAdvisor’s review praised Boracay’s White Beach for its “soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets.” The review also noted the beach’s suitability for swimming and snorkeling, as well as the abundance of local dining and drinking options nearby. Tripadvisor hosts over 191,420 reviews of Boracay hotels, attractions, and restaurants.

Activities and Experiences

Beyond its beautiful beach, Boracay offers a diverse range of activities for visitors. Recommended experiences include scuba diving, full-day tours, nature and wildlife tours, and various water sports. Recent reviews mention enjoying fairy boat rides and jet skiing.

TripAdvisor’s Recognition Process

The “Best of the Best Beaches” list is based on the quality and volume of reviews and opinions submitted by the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period. According to TripAdvisor, fewer than 1% of its over 8 million listings receive this distinction. Tripadvisor lists numerous attractions and activities in Boracay.

Government and Industry Response

The Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomed the recognition, emphasizing the importance of tourism for the livelihoods of Filipinos. Secretary Cristina Frasco highlighted the contributions of boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, and local entrepreneurs to the thriving tourism industry.

Regional and Global Rankings

Even as Boracay secured sixth place in Asia, other top beaches in the region include Banana Beach in Thailand and Kelingking Beach in Indonesia. Globally, Isla Pasion in Cozumel, Mexico, was named the best beach in the world for 2026.

Boracay’s Resilience and Continued Success

Despite a temporary closure in 2018 for rehabilitation efforts, Boracay has consistently earned international accolades. In 2025, Condé Nast ranked Boracay beach fourth in its Traveler’s top islands for 2025, having previously topped the list in 2022. In 2023, Boracay was also recognized as one of the Top 25 Islands in the World by Travel + Leisure and was included in Time Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places list in 2022.
