Rogen recounted a characteristic habit of O’Hara’s: emailing him and co-creator Evan Goldberg the night before filming with suggested rewrites. He emphasized that these suggestions invariably improved not only her character but the entire scene and show. “Literally 100 percent of the time it made not just her character better but it made the scene better and the entire show better as a whole,” Rogen said.

O’Hara’s Legacy

Catherine O’Hara passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 71, due to a blood clot in her lung. She is remembered for her iconic comedic roles in “SCTV,” “Home Alone,” “Beetlejuice,” and “Schitt’s Creek.” She had previously won two Actor Awards for her work on “Schitt’s Creek.”
