Pierce Brosnan Dismisses Tom Hardy ‘MobLand’ Feud Rumors

Pierce Brosnan has dismissed reports of a backstage feud involving Tom Hardy during the production of the crime drama series MobLand, describing the alleged friction as a “storm in a teacup” according to the Press Association.

MobLand Season Two Premiere and Feud Rumours

Earlier this year, British media outlets reported that Hardy had clashed with showrunner Jez Butterworth while filming the second series of MobLand, with specific claims pointing toward chronic lateness on set creating tension and putting his future on the program in doubt. Speaking at the world premiere of MobLand season two in London’s Leicester Square on Thursday, Brosnan rejected those characterizations entirely. “Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really,” Brosnan told the Press Association. “I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly. We are rock solid as a company, as a family.”

Cast Dynamics and Production Schedule

Brosnan elaborated on the working environment among the main cast, which also includes Dame Helen Mirren. According to Brosnan, the production schedule leaves little room for off-set socializing. “Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot,” Brosnan said. “It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that. Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes.”

Future of the Series on Paramount+

Hardy, Brosnan, and Mirren reunited on the red carpet ahead of the season two launch on Paramount+ on September 18. Discussing the experience of working alongside his co-stars, Hardy described the opportunity as a privilege. “Taking it away as a person, just watching people enjoy themselves and watching a good team work together and having fun,” Hardy told the Press Association. “That exists in the MobLand tribe, and Dame Helen and Pierce are of that family, so in that respect, not only just to be a part of it, but to watch and observe them still enjoying themselves and pushing the envelope is brilliant.” Following the months of industry speculation regarding his role, confirmation arrived earlier this month that Hardy will return for a third season of MobLand.
