Foreign National Faces Charges for Dancing at Kyiv Memorial
Kyiv police have reported that a 40-year-old foreign national is facing charges of petty hooliganism after allegedly dancing at a memorial dedicated to fallen defenders of Ukraine on Maidan Independence Square. The incident was discovered through monitoring of social media platforms.
According to a statement from the Kyiv police, officers identified the individual and documented the incident after a video surfaced online showing a man dancing on the grounds of the memorial.1
District officers from the Shevchenko police department have filed an administrative protocol against the man under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, which covers petty hooliganism.2
law enforcement officials have contacted the State Migration Service to explore the possibility of banning the individual from entering Ukraine, in accordance with the country’s laws regarding the legal status of foreigners.3
