Nintendo Indie World Showcase Delivers Surprises with Shadow Drops and Upcoming Releases

Nintendo’s Indie World showcase on March 3, 2026, brought a wave of exciting news for indie game fans, featuring both immediate releases and a look ahead at titles coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch throughout 2026. The presentation included several surprise “shadow drops,” with games becoming available immediately after being announced.

Immediate Releases: Blue Prince, Rotwood, and Minishoot’ Adventures

The showcase highlighted three games available immediately on the My Nintendo Store and Nintendo eShop: Blue Prince, Rotwood, and Minishoot’ Adventures.

  • Blue Prince: This DICE award-winning puzzle game from Dogubomb and Raw Fury takes place in Mt. Holly, a manor with ever-changing rooms, challenging players to unravel mysteries and navigate strategic puzzles. Blue Prince is available on Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Rotwood: Developed by Klei Entertainment, the studio behind Don’t Starve, Rotwood is a co-op action brawler where players battle corrupted beasts. It is a console exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Minishoot’ Adventures: This open-ended, hand-drawn twin-stick shoot-’em-up is available on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

Other Notable Announcements

  • Slay the Spire 2: Mega Crit’s sequel to the popular roguelite deckbuilder entered early access on Steam this week for $25, with plans for a one to two-year development period. The sequel introduces a co-op mode for up to four players.
  • Scott Pilgrim EX: Developed by Tribute Games in collaboration with Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, this side-scrolling fighter is now available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf: The sequel to the acclaimed narrative-driven adventure platformer is available now on various platforms, including Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and is also available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
  • The Legend of Khiimori: This open-world adventure game set in 13th-century Mongolia launched in early access on Steam and Epic Games Store.
  • Lost and Found Co.: A charming hidden object game from Bit Egg and Gamirror Games is available on Steam for PC, and Mac.
  • Ratcheteer DX: Originally a Playdate exclusive, Ratcheteer DX is now available on PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch.
  • Birds Watching: This psychological horror walking sim from Studio Ortica is available on Steam.
  • My Little Puppy: Coming to Switch on May 29, this game is based on a developer’s personal experience with their dog.
  • The House of Hikmah: A story-driven 3D adventure game inspired by the Islamic Golden Age, slated for release on Steam on April 8.
  • Ballgame: A physics platformer from Human Computer, coming to Steam later this year.
  • Echobreaker: A precision platformer with an isometric perspective, also slated for Steam later this year.
