Peruvian Judo Team Authorized for 2026 South American Youth Games in Panama
Panama City will host young judoka from across South America this April as the Peruvian Judo Sports Federation has received official authorization to participate in the IV South American Youth Games. The games are scheduled to take place from April 13th to 16th, 2026.

The approval was formalized through Directorial Resolution No. 170-2026-DINADAF/IPD, highlighting Peru’s dedication to developing its young athletes internationally. This participation provides a crucial platform for emerging Peruvian judo talent to gain competitive experience.
South American Youth Games: A Stepping Stone to Olympic Success
The South American Youth Games serve as a key developmental event for athletes aspiring to compete at the Youth Olympic Games and beyond. Organized by the Organización Deportiva Suramericana (ODESUR), the games will welcome athletes aged 14 to 17, fostering regional collaboration and athletic excellence.
Competition Format and Participating Nations
The event in Panama City will feature judo competitions across various weight categories for both men and women. According to the International Judo Federation, nine judoka from two countries are currently scheduled to compete. The IV South American Youth Games will include a wide range of sports, such as athletics, chess, baseball and more, creating a vibrant multi-sport environment.

The following countries are expected to participate in the games: Argentina, Aruba, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Curazao, Ecuador, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Surinam, and Venezuela.
