BYD Dolphin Hits the Road in South Korea with Nationwide Tour
BYD Korea is bringing its all-electric hatchback, the Dolphin, directly to consumers with the launch of the ‘BYD Dolphin Road Show’ on March 11, 2026. The mobile exhibition program aims to showcase the vehicle in everyday settings across the country.
Mobile Showroom Experience
The roadshow features a transparent showcase trailer carrying the BYD Dolphin, creating a “moving showroom” that will tour major cities. The tour begins in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Incheon and Seoul, and will then travel to Daegu, Busan, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Jeju Island. The trailer will be positioned in high-traffic areas such as near train stations and local landmarks, offering convenient access for potential customers.
Interactive Events and Promotions
BYD Korea is incorporating interactive elements into the roadshow to engage visitors. Scanning a QR code on the trailer and providing basic information will grant participants a mobile coffee coupon. Customers who purchase a Dolphin after participating in the event will be entered into a lottery for prizes including airline tickets, coffee machines, and hair dryers.
Additional promotional opportunities are available through social media. Following BYD’s official Instagram account (@byd.korea) and reposting the official Dolphin Road Show post offers a chance to win a coffee coupon.
Dolphin: An Urban EV
The BYD Dolphin is positioned as an electric vehicle specifically designed for urban driving. It targets first-time EV buyers and commuters, emphasizing packaging and price competitiveness. BYD reports that the Dolphin has achieved over 1 million units in global sales, demonstrating its market appeal and reliability.
Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Dolphin prioritizes interior space and incorporates safety and convenience features. It utilizes blade battery technology, known for its durability and energy density.
Launch and Pricing
The BYD Dolphin was officially launched in China in August 2021 and is scheduled for release in South Korea in the first half of 2026. It will be priced around 20 million South Korean won (approximately $14,000 USD). The roadshow runs from March 11th through April 4th, 2026.
