Air Force Women’s Gymnastics Shatters Records, Secures Mountain West Title
USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force women’s gymnastics team closed out its regular season with a historic performance on Saturday, scoring a program and Mountain West record 197.150 against Fisk University. The evening also served as Senior Night, honoring the team’s graduating gymnasts.
Record-Breaking Performance
Air Force’s score of 197.150 marks the program’s first-ever score above 197 and surpasses the previous Mountain West record. The Falcons secured first place in all four events, demonstrating their dominance throughout the competition.
Individual Highlights
Junior gymnast Maggie Slife led the Falcons with an all-around score of 39.675, setting a modern career best, Air Force all-time record, and the highest all-around score in Mountain West history. Sophomore Alyssa Bigler followed with a 39.500, currently the fifth-highest all-around score in program history, while senior Kylee Greene achieved a career-best 39.450.
Event Breakdown
- Vault: Air Force opened with a score of 49.900, their second 49-plus score on the apparatus this season. Slife led with a 9.875, and Greene matched her season-best with a 9.825.
- Bars: The Falcons posted their second-highest score ever on bars, finishing with a 49.350. Slife, ranked seventh in the nation on bars, scored a 9.950, and Bigler earned her first career 9.900.
- Beam: Air Force shattered its all-time record on balance beam, scoring a 49.525, which also tied the single-event Mountain West record. Slife achieved a career-best 9.975, setting new Air Force and Mountain West benchmarks. Bigler scored a 9.925, and both freshman Erin McDermott and Greene earned 9.900s.
- Floor: The Falcons capped off the evening with a 49.275 on floor, tying a season best. Bigler, Greene, and Slife each scored 9.875, while senior Gracie Willis tied her career high with a 9.850.
Senior Recognition
The team honored five outgoing seniors: Gigi Martyna (systems engineering, pilot training), Gracie Willis (contracting officer at Scott AFB), Janie Ottenbreit (contracting officer at F.E. Warren AFB), Gabi Hartley (Force Support Officer at Patrick AFB), and Kylee Greene (graduate studies in psychology at Texas Woman’s University, future Force Support Officer).
Looking Ahead
With a share of the regular-season title secured – the first in program history – Air Force Women’s Gymnastics will compete at the 2026 Mountain West Championship in Boise, Idaho, on March 21 at ExtraMile Arena. Source, Source
