Dominik Mysterio Retains AAA Mega Championship in Chaotic Rey de Reyes Match

Dominik Mysterio successfully defended his AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo in a No Disqualification match at AAA Rey de Reyes on Saturday night in Puebla, Mexico. The victory ensures Vikingo can no longer challenge for the title as long as Mysterio remains champion.

Bloody Brawl and Multiple Interferences

The match was a brutal affair, characterized by weapon use and interference from several individuals. Early in the match, both competitors utilized Singapore canes before engaging in a physical brawl. Vikingo gained an initial advantage, delivering a series of armdrags, a spin kick, and a dropkick. He then used a steel chair, inflicting a gash on Mysterio’s forehead and throwing him into the ring steps.

Vikingo continued his assault, executing a suicide dive that knocked Mysterio from a chair. Back in the ring, Vikingo attempted to capitalize with a garbage can and kendo stick, but Mysterio mounted a comeback with a sunset flip, kendo stick shots, and a series of Three Amigos suplexes.

Omos, Mini Vikingo, and Dorian Roldán Play a Role

The match took several unexpected turns with interference from Dorian Roldan, Omos, and a returning Mini Vikingo. Roldan initially attempted to break up a pin, whereas Omos chokeslammed Mysterio. However, Mini Vikingo’s return proved pivotal, as he interfered with Vikingo, leading to a shift in momentum.

Mysterio capitalized on the chaos, low-blowing Omos and then, alongside Mini Vikingo, attacking Omos with chair shots. Mysterio ultimately secured the victory with a chair shot and a frog splash on Vikingo.
