Peeps Diorama Contest
The North Liberty Library is hosting a Peeps Diorama Contest from March 16-22, 2026. Participants of all ages are encouraged to create a shoebox-size diorama inspired by a book, movie, or original scene using marshmallow Peeps. Entries will be displayed at the library and open to public voting. Complete contest details are available online.
55+ Connections Events
- Tuesday Gathering (March 17): A social gathering at the North Liberty Library – Meeting Room BCD, featuring puzzles, snacks, and conversation.
- Chair Yoga (March 17): Kellee Forkenbrock, Public Services Librarian at the North Liberty Library, will lead a 20-30 minute chair yoga session in Meeting Room CD. No prior experience is required.
- Friday Lunch (March 20): A pizza party at the North Liberty Rec Center – West Classroom, followed by a BINGO game with small prizes. Blood pressure checks will also be available. Gardening and Landscaping Workshops
- Gardening 101 (March 19): Scott Koepke, founder of Garden Bridge Outreach and co-founder of Grow Johnson County, will present a gardening basics workshop at the Coralville Public Library – Meeting Room A. Learn more about Scott Koepke.
- Plan Your Landscape Like a Pro (March 19): A seminar at the North Liberty Rec Center featuring a presentation and Q&A session with Forever Green Garden Center.
Other Events
- Film Fridays & Free Popcorn (March 20): The Iowa City Senior Center will screen the 2024 film, The Outrun, with free popcorn. The film follows a woman returning to Scotland to confront her past.
- UI Mobile Clinic (March 22): Free health and social services will be available at the Coralville Public Library – Lower Level, including vital checks, cholesterol and diabetes testing, exercise and nutrition programming, prescription refills, and free reading glasses.
