Lakers Extend Winning Streak to Seven, Led by Doncic and James
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their impressive run, extending their winning streak to seven games with a 124-116 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. The dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and LeBron James spearheaded the Lakers’ offense, delivering standout performances that propelled the team to success.
Doncic’s Masterful Performance
Luka Doncic was instrumental in the win, nearly achieving a triple-double with 40 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Lakers coach JJ Redick praised Doncic’s performance, stating, “I thought he definitely put on a clinic down the stretch.” Redick highlighted Doncic’s ability to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates, particularly in isolation situations and pick-and-roll plays with Alperen Segun. “We moved the basketball, so that kind of got us going and then when Luka came back in he was just fantastic,” Redick added.
James’ Efficiency and Patience
LeBron James contributed 30 points, shooting an efficient 13-for-14 from the field, including both of his three-point attempts. Redick noted James’ increased patience as a key element of his evolution within the team. “His patience, knowing he’s going to gain the ball and he’s going to have transition opportunities and he’s going to have plays called for him and he’s going to play off-ball and get a corner three…He was great.”
